On Thursday 6th March, Singlewell celebrated World Book Day! The children all looked fantastic dressed as many different characters; Willy Wonka, Mr Tumnus, Paddington Bear, Dog Man, Gangsta Granny and many, many more!  

 The children took part in many ‘book related’ activities throughout the day. These included scavenger hunts, a Footy Booky quiz hosted by members of the professional footballing world and a range of activities in class. Our whole school book for the day was Gorilla by Anthony Browne. Children across the school read and listened to the story, asked and answered many questions and delved deeper into the thoughts and feelings of the characters themselves.  

A huge thank you to those that entered our Supertato Competition. We had a fantastic range of characters and indeed fruits and vegetables used! It was amazing to see how creative the children were and it was very hard to select the winners! 

Lastly, a big thank you to those that visited the book fair! Every book that is bought at the fair, contributes towards money that we, as a school, can use to buy books for our book corners and library.
